Hey Wanderers!
If you’re ready to treat your tastebuds to something fresh and local, Cochrane Dining Week’s Taste of Place is on now from November 2-10. Only a short drive from Calgary, this annual event is a must for anyone looking to explore unique flavours with special menus, tastings, and exclusive bites at over 10 local spots. Adi and I had a blast making our way through the town and discovering just how strong Cochrane’s community spirit is—every spot truly embodies a love for local.
Here’s What to Expect at Cochrane Dining Week:
Taste/Snack Offers: Delicious bites for under $10—a perfect way to sample your way around town!
Lunch Menus: Unique, flavourful lunch offerings up to $25.
Casual Dinner Menus: A relaxed dinner experience with menus up to $40.
Fine Dining Menus: For an elevated experience, enjoy fine dining for up to $75.
One of our must-stops was Aama Nepalese, named Avenue Magazine’s Best Restaurant of 2024—always a favorite for their vibrant, authentic flavors. We also couldn’t stop raving about Fence and Post, where the fall salad and the beautifully braised Alberta chuck were unforgettable.
If you’re a tea lover, Stillwater Tea is a dream. Their tea flight was not only delicious but came with a fascinating lesson on tea origins and history. For a little buzz, Rocky View Brewing Company was a cozy and flavourful experience. Their autumn-inspired flatbread paired perfectly with a sample beer paddle, leaving us craving more.
And don’t miss The Social Spot Marketplace, with treats from Early Dawn Farm, Fallentimber Meadery, Wildcat Coffee, and Sweet Gypsy Chocolates for that perfect post-meal bite.
If you’re ready to dive into Cochrane’s local food scene, now’s the time! Check out Cochrane Dining Week’s unique spots, sample the exclusive menus, and experience the hidden gems just a short drive from Calgary.
