When the chilly weather hits, there’s nothing like a hot bowl of pho to warm you up! We asked you for your favourite pho spots in Calgary, and of course, Adi and I had to dive in to see what all the hype was about. We stuck with satay broths (always our go-to!) and ranked the top three based on flavour, service, and overall vibe.

Pho Chu The – $15+
📍 4633 Macleod Trail SW, Calgary, AB
This spot was a flavour-packed delight! The broth was light yet spicy, with just the right balance of savoury and kick. Adi took it up a notch by adding extra satay and green chilies for the ultimate spicy experience. Bonus: they sell their own chili oil, which is a game-changer for soups, eggs, dumplings, and more. They’ve got two locations (Macleod Trail and Mahogany), making it easy to get your fix. We left feeling satisfied without being overly full—a win in our books!

Pho Huy Dat – $14.50+
📍 311 19 St NW, Calgary, AB
A newer gem tucked in a quiet strip mall, this family-owned spot stole our hearts with its service and flavourful broth. The lunch crowd was buzzing, and for good reason! The broth was so rich and aromatic that I couldn’t decide whether to add satay—so I did the only logical thing: ate half my bowl as-is and spiced up the rest. Both ways were incredible. The welcoming vibe and thoughtful service make this a must-visit.

Golden Bell – $17.95+
📍 1112 17 Ave SW, Calgary, AB
And the top spot goes to… Golden Bell! 🏆 This one caught me by surprise. True story: I worked just around the corner for years and never ventured inside—biggest regret ever! Their satay broth was hands-down the best I’ve ever had, so much so that I’ve ordered it four times since. With 15+ years in Calgary and three locations (17th Ave, Richmond, and Bridgeland), they’ve perfected the art of pho. This place is the real deal.
