Don't Throw Those Pumpkins Out - Help Support an Amazing Ecological Institute!

Hey Wanderers!

If you’re wondering what to do with your carved pumpkins post-Halloween, Cochrane Ecological Institute (CEI) has the perfect solution!

This incredible organization is welcoming pumpkin donations to treat their wildlife patients. But don’t just toss them in – make sure they’re candle-free, without wax, paint, markers, or chemicals. You can drop them off daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at Happy Tails Pet Retreat in Cochrane. It's a simple way to recycle your pumpkins and support local wildlife!

How to Support CEI’s Mission Beyond Pumpkins

Did you know? Wildlife rehabilitation centrws like CEI operate without provincial or federal funding. Alberta doesn’t cover the costs of wildlife rescue, so CEI’s essential work relies on community generosity. Want to help?

🐾 1. Shop Their Wish List

As the seasons change, so do their needs! CEI’s Amazon wish list features items crucial for the care of new patients. Explore their wish list to make a direct impact.

💵 2. Donate Financially

From one-time contributions to monthly support, CEI’s donation page offers several ways to help. Through Canada Helps, you can set up recurring donations to make a lasting difference.

Why CEI Matters

CEI’s legacy began with the Smeeton family, who launched Canada’s first Swift fox reintroduction program in 1972, making history before the species was declared extirpated. For nearly 50 years, CEI has helped reintroduce species like the Trumpeter swan and Wood Bison, making them a cornerstone of Canada’s wildlife conservation efforts.

Let’s turn Halloween into a season of giving back. Help keep wildlife wild and make a difference right here in Cochrane! 🎃🐾
