Latifa and I finally made our way to the newly renovated AYCE KBBQ in NW Calgary and if you’re a fan of Korean BBQ, you’re going to want to add this to your list.

Located just across from the McDonald’s on 4th Street NW, this spot has had a glow-up and now offers tabletop grills, which means you get the full hands-on Korean BBQ experience. For just $29.99, you get two full hours of unlimited meats to grill, plus access to a self-serve buffet of soups, salads, hot dishes, and more.

Let’s talk about the meat it was genuinely better quality than most all-you-can-eat spots we’ve been to in Calgary. Tender, well-marinated, and super fresh. You can taste the difference. And while we were there for the meat (obviously), the sides honestly surprised us. You can build your own ramen at the noodle station (which sounds chaotic but totally works), and the Korean fried chicken? Crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned.

One of our favourite things was the ability to help ourselves to sides and sauces, no waiting around for tiny portions to arrive. It made the whole experience more relaxed and fun.

And we can’t not mention the service the staff were so kind and attentive. Even though it was busy, they made sure our grill was changed quickly, gave great recommendations, and checked in often to see how everything was going. It’s the kind of place where you feel taken care of, without the pressure or rush that some AYCE spots can have.

There’s also a pretty wild promotion going on. if you and three friends can finish a 30L keg in two hours, it only costs $1. We didn’t try it (lol), but if you do, please report back and drink responsibly.
